If anything, I can say it's got me that much more interested in reading the book. 'John Dies at the End' is the story of David Wong, his friend John and the crazy stuff that happens when they get involved with a strange new drug called soy sauce. The sense of humour in this book is brilliant and there's a lot of really original, insane, and amusing stuff going on throughout. Foregone Conclusion: Subverted: John doesn't die at the end, just toward the beginning, but he gets better. Dave dies about halfway through the book, although we don't realize it until after the climactic showdown. Amy's clone dies at the end, though, and it saves John and Dave's home dimension from invasion, as her body was infected.

John Dies at the End is one of my favorite series and I've been trying to find something else similar to it for a while now. The closest I've been able to get is Gil's All Fright Diner (enjoyable but the descriptions of female characters are extremely obviously written by a man if that makes sense, I wasn't as attached to the characters as I am with the John Dies gang) or One Bloody Thing
